Remembrance Sunday Statement

“Remembrance Sunday gives the nation the chance to show its gratitude to our Armed Forces, past and present, for what they have done and continue to do for us all.

“This year the commemorations are particularly poignant for our brave men and women who have served in Afghanistan. I pay tribute to them and their families. They will be thinking of their comrades who served alongside them and made the ultimate sacrifice to keep our country safe and secure, and my thoughts and those of the entire country will be with the loved ones of those 453 members of our Armed Forces who died in Afghanistan.”
