Yvette Cooper MP, Labour's Shadow Home Secretary, said in response to the Tory-led Government's changes to control orders which will allow a terror suspect banned from London to return to the capital:

"The Home Secretary's changes to control orders are very unwise. Just one month ago she and the High court agreed that a terror suspect was so dangerous it was justified to keep him out of London to prevent an attack. Yet under the government's new laws that would not be possible, even in the most serious cases. These powers can only be used in the most exceptional circumstances but to rule them out goes against national security as the case of CD has shown. The Mayor is reflecting the concerns we raised in the House of Commons this week. Theresa May needs to think again."
