Caroline Flint MP, Labour's Shadow Energy and Climate Change Secretary, said in response to Vince Cable's letter to David Cameron, which admitted that the Government was giving “little attention” to “supply chain issues” for renewable energy:
"Yesterday Labour warned that Britain was missing out on jobs and growth because this Government was failing to support renewable manufacturers in this country. Now we know that even the Business Secretary doesn’t think the Government is doing enough to support British businesses in the low-carbon economy.
“We have to do more to develop our supply chain and to support manufacturing in this country. DECC and BIS must work together to be market makers and to build confidence in the British supply chain so that overseas energy companies know that there are British manufacturers who can do the job.”
