Responding to the result of the ballot by Unite of bus drivers on industrial action, Tessa Jowell, Labour's Shadow Olympics Minister said:

"The Olympics Games are a once in a generation opportunity for Britain.

It is important we do not see industrial action during the Games when we want everyone's focus to be on their great success.

Today's ballot results make it all the more urgent that both sides in this dispute get round the table and sort this out. The public, not just in London, will rightly want to see every effort being put in to find a resolution that doesn't disrupt the Olympics."
