Stephen Twigg MP, Labour’s Shadow Education Secretary, responding to the report from Ofsted entitled ‘No Place for Bullying’, said:
“This report shows that bullying is still a problem for too many young people. In an increasingly fragmented system, the Government must do more to ensure bullying is tackled effectively in all schools.
“Bullying must be tackled from the top and only when we create a culture of intolerance of bullying in schools will it be stamped out. The Government should reform teacher training so that anti-bullying skills are a core part of all teacher training courses and on the job development. Heads and teachers play a crucial role in addressing bullying and as such must be equipped to take action.”
