In response to the House of Commons Defence Select Committee report on Service accommodation Labour’s Shadow Armed Forces Minister Kevan Jones MP said:
“The Conservatives have broken promises and undermined the Military Covenant.
“No-one should suffer as a result of their service, yet Ministers are cutting investment in the housing on which service personnel and their families rely. Labour improved service accommodation but we worry our gains are being put into reverse.
“This will damage morale further and is a sign of how out of touch Ministers are with the needs of the service community.
“We need urgent answers as to why this has been allowed to happen and a clear plan of action for improvement.”
