Mary Creagh MP, Labour's Shadow Environment Secretary, commenting on this afternoon's House of Commons debate on the badger cull, said:

“Defra ministers are continuing to insist this unnecessary cull will go ahead despite the science. The costs to farmers and taxpayers will continue to rise if ministers continue their incompetent approach to this ongoing shambles. The public have shown that they will not accept a badger cull.”
