Chris Bryant MP, Labour’s Shadow Immigration Minister, responding to David Cameron’s comments on immigration, said:

“Yet again the Prime Minister's windy rhetoric on immigration is completely out of touch with reality. His Government is deporting fewer foreign criminals and fewer illegal immigrants are being stopped at the border. He keeps on making promises, but as we saw in India last week his message overseas is contradictory and confused.

“Instead of announcing the prospect of a working group to look at the possibility of restricting access to legal aid in a narrowly defined number of cases for the benefit of the good people Eastleigh, David Cameron and Theresa May should be getting to grip with their already big list of failures.”
