Labour's Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Vernon Coaker MP, speaking after the discovery of a bomb in a car in county Fermanagh, said:

"I condemn this latest attempt by a tiny minority to bring Northern Ireland back to the dark days of conflict.

"The police, army bomb disposal team and security services have again shown their bravery and tenacity in combating this murderous terrorist activity.

"Peace and progress in Northern Ireland was hard won and it will not be destroyed by the reckless and criminal actions of those who have nothing to offer anyone."
