Andrew Gwynne MP, Labour’s Shadow Health Minister, responding to further warnings of an A&E crisis, said:
“Today’s warning from the NHS Confederation is the latest proof that the NHS is not safe in David Cameron’s hands.
“There is a growing crisis in A&E departments across the country on David Cameron’s watch. It’s no good him blaming everyone else – under him thousands of nursing posts have been lost, walk-in centres have closed, the new 111 service has collapsed and they have cut social care to the bone.
“David Cameron should stop casting around for scapegoats, get a grip of his crisis and listen to his own experts who are warning about the unfolding chaos his policies are causing in A&E."
