Michael Dugher MP, Vice-Chair of the Labour Party, responding to David Cameron's interview on the Andrew Marr show this morning, said:
"After again refusing to give a straight question as to whether he had a conversation with tobacco lobbyist and chief strategist Lynton Crosby about plain packaging for cigarettes, David Cameron snapped at Andrew Marr on the BBC: "well, that's the answer that you are getting".
"This shows breathtaking arrogance from a Prime Minister who looks increasingly rattled and out if touch.
"Recent polling shows that the public back plain packaging for cigarettes and that they think it's wrong for David Cameron to employ someone who is also in the pay of a big money tobacco firm.
"We know he stands up for the wrong people, but this important question is not going away for David Cameron. Why can't he just tell the public the truth?"
